This English Premier League season has already been full of goals, and the race for the Golden Boot has begun early, with a host of top forwards continuing to fire in strikes at will for their respective clubs.
Manchester City are the title favorites after their superbly strong to proceedings in the top flight, but bitter rivals and local neighbours Manchester United are quietly tailing them, while the likes of Tottenham and Chelsea playing catchup, too.
Among those star-studded sides and others, there are attacking threats that have been furiously finding the back of the net constantly so far in the English top tier.
So, here are four top early contenders for the Premier League Golden Boot, as the race for the top marksman award heats up during the winter period.
Mohamed Salah
Leading the way so far in the goalscoring charts is Liverpool’s wing wizard Mohamed Salah, who has stormed to the top of the standings thanks to his incredible efforts in attacking areas.
The Egypt international forward looks more than likely of maintaining his clinical nature in front of goal and is currently a very promising +500 second-favorite in the Premier League betting to finish the season with the Golden Boot in his grasp.
Harry Kane
Can Tottenham hitman Harry Kane make it three Golden Boot awards in a row this season? The England international frontman has been in typically fine form this term in front of goal. He is now the +225 frontrunner to secure a trio of personal victories come next May.
Trailing Salah narrowly, he is creeping up on the Egyptian and has plenty of time to fire himself back to the top of the charts. Kane scored 29 times in 30 outings last term to win the honor and 25 in 38 the campaign before.
Sergio Aguero
Argentine ace Sergio Aguero is always in the mix when it comes to the Premier League Golden Boot and he once again finds himself in the running this current campaign.
The reliable Manchester City sharpshooter is regarded as the +500 third-favorite to pick up the award again, having previously fired himself to success back in 2015 when he struck 26 times in 31 domestic appearances for the Sky Blues.
Raheem Sterling
Another Man City attacker is next in the list, as England international wide man Raheem Sterling continues to showcase his superb talents under the watchful eye of Spanish tactician Pep Guardiola. The now 22-year-old winger has been amazing in sky blue and is in the running for this personal award as well.
Sterling previously came under fire and endured plenty of criticism from Man City fans for his underwhelming performances for the club since arriving for a hefty £50 million fee from Merseyside club Liverpool. But he has finally found his feet and is finding form at the right time for his current employers, while his international boss Gareth Southgate will be licking his lips too ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
